Management Academy
A multi-module programme for managers who manage other managers or large teams. We help them move from the expert role to the leader role: think strategically, delegate responsibility, lead people through change and hold people accountable for results without micromanaging.
Who it is for and what problem it solves
An expert instead of a manager
The manager still does the most important tasks themselves, and the team waits for their decisions.
No consistent management standard
Every manager manages in their own way – it is hard to compare results and assess people.
Change and uncertainty
Reorganisations, new systems, cost pressure – managers have to communicate them and keep the team engaged.
Tensions between departments
Silos, passing the buck and conflicting priorities.
What participants will practise
Leadership
- situational leadership and building authority
- strategic thinking and decision-making
- managing an effective team
Working with people
- delegating and developing autonomy
- motivation and feedback
- appraisal and development conversations
Change and cooperation
- communicating difficult decisions
- working with resistance to change
- resolving conflicts between departments
How the process works
Needs analysis
Interviews with the board and HR, optionally a 180°/360° assessment or a Development Centre.
Academy design
Modules and their sequence set on the basis of the needs analysis and the company’s strategy.
Modules and coaching
Workshops built on cases from your organisation, supplemented by individual or group coaching.
Implementation tasks
Projects and tasks carried out in teams between modules, with the participants’ own managers involved.
Measurement and recommendations
Pre/post measurement, a final report and a plan for further development.
What HR receives
A consistent management standard
A common language and tools for all managers.
Reports after each module
Attendance, ratings, conclusions and recommendations.
Final report
Measurement results, a picture of the strengths and gaps of the whole group.
Support for line managers
Short meetings for the participants’ own managers so they can support implementation.
How we assess the outcome
Competency measurement
A test or 180°/360° assessment before and after the programme.
Team indicators
Agreed with HR: retention, engagement, achievement of team objectives.
Implementation
Completion of implementation tasks and assessment by line managers.
Who leads it
A sample line-up of trainers – the final team is matched to your company and group.
