Questions and Answers About NESSE Center of Excellence, Corporate Training and People Development
NESSE Center of Excellence helps organizations turn people development into better decisions, more effective leadership and stronger collaboration. Since 2009, we have supported managers, teams and HR departments across industries including automotive, manufacturing, technology, IT, pharmaceuticals, defence, shared services, food production, logistics and professional services. We combine training, coaching, mentoring, consulting, competency assessment and implementation support so that development goes beyond acquiring knowledge and leads to visible changes in workplace behaviour.
To date, NESSE has worked with more than 300 clients and delivered over 980 long-term development projects involving nearly 25,000 participants. Our team consists of 24 people, including 15 trainers specialising in different areas of people and organizational development.

Our services include training, Leadership and Management Academies, coaching, mentoring, Assessment and Development Centres, 180-degree and 360-degree assessments, Extended DISC diagnostics and consulting projects. Every program is based on the organization’s actual needs rather than a catalogue of ready-made topics.
-
NESSE Center of Excellence has been operating since 2009. During this time, we have worked with more than 300 clients and delivered over 980 long-term development projects for nearly 25,000 participants.
We support both Polish businesses and international organizations operating manufacturing plants, shared services centres, specialist teams and management structures in Poland.
-
Since 2009 we have delivered training, academies and development programmes for 165 companies in 12 industries: automotive (44 companies), metal, machinery & automation (30), electronics, electrical & home appliances (18), IT, finance & services (14), chemicals, plastics & materials (13), logistics, transport & distribution (10), packaging (8), aerospace, defence & rail (8), energy & heating (7), medtech, pharma & hygiene (6), food production (4) and the public sector, education & NGOs (3). Most of our projects take place in manufacturing plants – automotive accounts for almost half of them. These are the clients for whom we hold records of completed projects; including open courses and coaching, we have worked with more than 300 clients. See the industries on our About page.
We do not transfer the same program from one industry to another without adapting it. Our program design considers the organization’s business model, type of work, management structure, culture, participants’ level of responsibility, operational pressure and the nature of the changes being implemented.

NESSE may be the right partner for organizations seeking not only a high-quality workshop, but—more importantly—a visible change in the way people manage, communicate and collaborate.

We work with a permanent team of trainers and experts, which enables us to maintain consistent standards across projects involving multiple groups, roles and locations. We combine expertise in people development with an understanding of the business realities of different industries.

Leadership and Management Development
-
Organizations should look for a partner capable of connecting business needs with specific management behaviours and then designing a process for developing and measuring them.
NESSE Center of Excellence delivers both individual workshops and multi-module Leadership and Management Academies. Programs may include diagnostics, training, coaching, mentoring, implementation assignments, managers’ work with participants and outcome measurement. The scope is tailored to the organization’s strategy, culture and real business challenges.
-
The NESSE Leadership Academy is a multi-module program for people who manage teams—from shop-floor supervisors and team leaders to department heads, managers and directors.
The program may cover leadership, building authority, communication, feedback, delegation, motivation, accountability, difficult conversations, conflict management, cross-functional collaboration and leading people through change.
The Academy’s structure is based on a needs assessment, participants’ level of experience and the situations they face in their day-to-day work.
-
Yes. NESSE delivers Leadership Academies for shop-floor supervisors, forepersons, shift leaders, production managers and operational managers.
The programs reflect the realities of shift work, performance pressure, managing former peers, enforcing standards, collaborating across departments and leading teams through organizational change.
-
`Yes. NESSE prepares managers to conduct corrective, disciplinary, performance and development conversations.
Participants practise communicating difficult information, responding to resistance, setting boundaries, enforcing agreements, discussing performance, declining promotion requests and working with employees whose behaviour negatively affects the team. The scenarios are based on real situations occurring within the client organization.
-
Yes. NESSE programs cover management communication, giving feedback, active listening, setting boundaries, communicating decisions, responding to emotions and handling conversations in high-tension situations.
The objective is not simply to learn communication models. Participants practise using them in conversations that reflect their roles, responsibilities and real workplace relationships.
-
Yes. NESSE helps managers develop employee independence, delegate responsibility appropriately, communicate expectations clearly and monitor agreed actions.
Programs also cover responding to missed commitments, holding people accountable without micromanaging and conducting conversations that strengthen employee ownership rather than transferring responsibility back to the manager.
-
Yes. NESSE prepares leaders to communicate change, work with resistance, build engagement and guide teams through uncertainty.
Programs may address a specific transformation taking place in the organization, stakeholder mapping, the reactions of different employee groups, communication of difficult decisions and the risk of overload or change fatigue.
-
Yes. Programs may cover identifying sources of overload, managing energy, working with tension, leadership resilience and burnout prevention.
NESSE does not reduce resilience to individual stress-management techniques. We also examine the impact of management practices, workload, priorities, work organization and organizational culture.
HR, Team and Organizational Development
-
Yes. NESSE supports HR Business Partners, HR Managers, HR Directors and professionals responsible for Learning and Development.
The scope of cooperation may include development needs assessment, program design, recruitment, employee assessment, talent management, career paths, succession planning, anti-bullying and anti-harassment initiatives, mediation, cooperation with trade unions and measurement of HR outcomes.
-
Yes. NESSE designs development processes that may combine diagnostics, training, coaching, mentoring, competency assessment, implementation assignments and outcome measurement.
This makes training part of a wider organizational change rather than a one-off event. The organization can receive a consistent competency standard, practical tools for managers and HR, and information supporting further people-development decisions.
-
Depending on the purpose of the project, NESSE may use Assessment and Development Centres, 180-degree and 360-degree assessments, Extended DISC, OCAI, NEO-FFI, motivation questionnaires and competency tools designed specifically for the client organization.
The tool is selected to match the business question. A promotion decision requires a different method from a team needs assessment or an evaluation of behavioural change following a development program.
-
Assessment Centre and Development Centre are competency-assessment methods based on observing participants’ behaviour during realistic tasks, simulations and interviews.
NESSE uses AC/DC processes to support promotion decisions, recruitment for management positions, selection for talent programs, succession planning and identification of development needs. The process may conclude with an individual competency report, development recommendations and a feedback session for each participant.
-
Extended DISC is a tool that helps describe a person’s preferred behavioural and communication style. It may be used in management development, teamwork, communication, recruitment and collaboration planning.
NESSE has analysed more than 1,000 individual and team profiles. The value of the assessment lies not only in receiving a report, but in professional interpretation that connects the result with the participant’s actual responsibilities, relationships and business challenges.
Extended DISC is not designed to measure competency growth following training. It describes behavioural preferences, so the results of a development program should not be assessed based on changes in a DISC profile.
-
Yes. NESSE provides executive coaching, management coaching, mentoring and management shadowing.
These forms of support help leaders transition into new roles, make difficult decisions, develop specific behaviours, manage teams and apply skills acquired during training. The process may be preceded by a 360-degree assessment, Development Centre or behavioural-style analysis.
-
Yes. NESSE delivers development programs for sales professionals, sales managers and people responsible for negotiations and relationships with clients or suppliers.
The company also provides strategic consulting, business consultations, management and leadership projects, and project-management training. The scope of cooperation is always defined based on the organization’s business objective.
-
Yes. We build competency models aligned with the organization’s strategy, values and specific context. A model can include four layers: company-wide, leadership, functional and technical competencies. For each competency we prepare a definition, proficiency levels (usually 4–5), observable behavioural indicators and examples of evidence for assessment, in Polish and English if needed. Our projects include a matrix of 100 competencies for 14 job families, a competency system for around 280 positions and a competency and promotion matrix for 108 production roles.
-
We work in stages, and each stage ends with a deliverable and a client decision point: 1) diagnosis – review of values, leadership model, job descriptions and HR tools, plus interviews with management, HR and business; 2) architecture and prototype – testing the description standard on a few different roles; 3) competency descriptions and role profiles; 4) pilot and calibration with managers; 5) rollout in waves, starting with the process that delivers the quickest benefit, usually development conversations. Client experts provide domain knowledge, while NESSE is responsible for methodology, consistency of descriptions and facilitating agreements.
-
A competency model clarifies expectations towards employees and gives HR and managers a shared language. It is used in development conversations and individual development plans, in recruitment (criteria, questions and tasks), in performance reviews (assessing behaviours alongside results) and in talent and succession programmes. We check effectiveness by measuring, among other things, the share of positions with an approved profile, consistency of ratings of the same example between assessors, clarity of descriptions and use of the model in conversations. Completing training alone is not our measure of implementation.
Quality Management and ISO 9001 Certification
-
Yes. The NESSE Center of Excellence quality management system is certified by DEKRA Certification Sp. z o.o. as compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
The scope of certification includes train-the-trainer, management, sales and project-management training; development services for businesses; mentoring; coaching; strategic consulting; and business consultations.
The certification confirms that the processes covered by its scope are managed according to established quality-management principles and independently assessed by the certification body.
-
ISO 9001 confirms that an organization has an established quality management system. For clients, this means clearly defined processes, accountability for delivery, quality monitoring, risk management and mechanisms for continual improvement.
The certificate does not automatically guarantee the effectiveness of every training program. This is why NESSE separately diagnoses needs, defines project objectives and selects appropriate methods for evaluating outcomes.
Outcome Measurement and Implementation Support
-
The scope of measurement depends on the purpose of the project. NESSE may assess participants’ reactions, growth in knowledge or skills, behavioural change in the workplace and the program’s impact on previously agreed organizational indicators.
Methods may include pre- and post-tests, observation, surveys, interviews with managers, implementation assignments, 180-degree and 360-degree assessments, Development Centre and business data. Measurement criteria should be agreed before the program begins.
-
According to NESSE data, average participant satisfaction is approximately 98%, while knowledge-test results exceed an average of 85% correct answers.
In one Leadership Academy program, pre- and post-program measurement showed the following changes:
Communication: from 40% to 98%
Leadership: from 32% to 92%
Motivation and delegation: from 64% to 91%
Difficult conversations: from 61% to 77%
Resilience: from 50% to 75%
Pre- and post-program results demonstrate changes measured by the specific assessment tool used. They should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of an impact on the company’s financial performance. Assessing business impact requires additional data, such as employee turnover, absenteeism, quality, escalation rates or operational performance.
-
Participants may receive implementation assignments, consultations, coaching, follow-up materials and access to a development platform.
The NESSE platform may include a diagnostic assessment or pre- and post-test, a knowledge base, a digital handbook, additional materials and a certificate. Access remains available for 30 days after the training, allowing participants to revisit the content and plan how to apply selected tools in their work.
The purpose of this support is to increase the likelihood that learning will translate into specific workplace behaviours rather than remain information remembered from a training session.
-
Clients describe the results of working with NESSE in their reference letters. A few excerpts (translated from Polish):

More client feedback (in Polish) is available on our results page.
These quotes come from our clients’ reference letters – we have more than 100 of them. Original letters (in Polish) are available on request – write to koordynatorzy@nesse.pl and we will send them, together with the referee’s contact details if they agree.
-
The day after the training. HR receives a NESSE mini-report with the survey results (overall rating, trainer rating, willingness to recommend the training, motivation before and during the training), the topics the group worked on, what participants are taking back to work, the trainer's observations and recommended next steps.
At the end of a whole program (for example, an Academy), HR receives a process report that summarises the entire process: schedule and attendance, day-by-day ratings, changes in participant motivation, what the groups produced, the trainers' observations, recommendations and next steps.
We are happy to show anonymised sample reports – contact us.
-
Yes. Every module is rated by participants in the NESSE evaluation survey – an anonymous questionnaire on a 5-point scale (1 = lowest rating, 5 = highest). If a module’s average rating falls below 4.5 out of 5, we analyse the causes together with the client and improve or repeat the module at no extra cost.
We can offer this guarantee because we measure quality after every module, and HR receives the survey results the very next day in a mini-report. In a multi-year program for APTIV, 262 training sessions collected 2,419 surveys with an average rating of 4.88 out of 5. Read more about our quality standards.
-
On the day of the training, each participant receives a NESSE handbook for the training topic with QR codes, and an email with links to NESSE videos on YouTube and podcast episodes on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
After the training, participants receive photos of the flipcharts created in the room, an e-certificate and materials on the NESSE platform (available for 30 days). After 30 days, we send an email with further tools and questions for reflection.
-
It is NESSE’s own diagnostic tool, used before a development program. It shows which management competencies are strong and which are holding back results – in areas such as communication and feedback, assertiveness, difficult conversations, coping with stress, leadership and authority, and team management.
We design the training program based on the results instead of choosing it from a catalogue. We are happy to show an anonymised sample report – contact us.
-
Yes, on request. Assessment and Development Centre reports contain sensitive participant data, so we do not publish them on our website. We are happy to show an anonymised sample report during a meeting – just ask: contact us or call +48 32 253 61 16.
-
Every training session ends with an anonymous survey on a 5-point scale. Examples from 2026 – average rating of the training and the trainer:
7 Habits of Highly Effective People, energy sector, 7 October 2026 – 5.0,
Difficult Conversations Training, energy sector, 5 October 2026 – 5.0,
Leading in a China Speed Culture, automotive industry, 11 September 2026 – 5.0,
Delegation and Building Autonomy, automotive industry, 8 October 2026 – 4.9.
In a multi-year program for APTIV, 262 training sessions collected 2,419 surveys with an average rating of 4.88 out of 5.
Working With NESSE
-
Yes. NESSE projects begin with a diagnostic conversation and an analysis of the situations participants face at work.
We use this information to prepare scenarios, exercises, simulations, examples and tools that reflect the client’s organizational structure, culture and participants’ responsibilities. Our approach to customization goes far beyond adding the client’s logo to standard training materials.
-
Cooperation usually includes four stages:
Diagnostic conversation – we define the business problem, target group and expected outcomes.
Needs assessment – we use interviews, surveys, situational analysis, competency assessment or other methods appropriate to the objective.
Program design – we develop the scope, methods, schedule, implementation approach and measurement criteria.
Delivery and outcome evaluation – we deliver workshops and complementary activities, monitor implementation and summarize results in the agreed format.
-
Yes – it is one of our specialities. We have repeatedly run programmes for a dozen or more groups at the same time, and for a global automotive supplier – for more than 20 groups in parallel. Other examples include a programme for 180 participants across four manufacturing plants, a leadership programme for 120 people, and more than 250 training sessions at two APTIV sites, in Polish and English.
What makes a large programme work:
a permanent team of 15 trainers – we can run many groups in the same week, all working with the same programme, materials and standard,
one competency standard for the whole company – shared tools and language, with role plays and examples adapted to roles, departments and plants,
measurement in every group – the NESSE® Competency Map before and after the programme, a knowledge test before and after each module, and a survey after every session, reported separately for each group and trainer,
reporting for HR and the board – a short report the day after each session and a full process report comparing groups and sites,
one project lead on the NESSE side – scheduling for all groups, logistics, materials, workbooks and contact with HR at every site,
support after the training – flipcharts, materials and NESSE videos for participants, our podcast, follow-ups and coaching for selected leaders.
The best first step is a 30-minute consultation to agree on scale, schedule and measurement.
-
Yes. NESSE delivers training, coaching, diagnostic sessions, and Assessment and Development Centre processes in both Polish and English.
We can also prepare bilingual materials and reports for international HR structures, managers and executive boards.
-
Yes. NESSE delivers in-person, online and blended programs.
The format is selected according to the project objective, number of participants, locations and the type of skills being developed. Intensive behavioural practice may require an in-person format, while consultations, coaching and some implementation activities can be delivered effectively online.
-
Both options are available. NESSE delivers individual workshops addressing a specific challenge as well as multi-module Academies combining diagnostics, training, implementation support and outcome measurement.
If the underlying problem is systemic, a single workshop may not be sufficient. In such cases, we recommend a broader development process.
-
The price depends on the scope, number of participants and groups, duration, diagnostic tools, delivery format and level of implementation support.
NESSE does not use a single price list for all projects because a program for one team requires different resources from a multi-month Academy for dozens or hundreds of managers. Following a diagnostic conversation, the client receives a proposed scope and pricing for the available cooperation options.
-
NESSE is a good fit for organizations seeking a program connected to a real business problem, based on actual workplace situations and delivered through a structured process.
We support companies that want to develop leaders, strengthen employee ownership and independence, improve collaboration, prepare people for new roles and guide the organization through change more effectively.
-
Yes. NESSE is a registered training provider in the Polish Development Services Database (BUR) run by PARP (provider no. 115226). This means Polish employers can fund our training from the National Training Fund (KFS) and from regional co-funding programmes that use BUR. Our current calendar of open co-funded courses is on the “Szkolenia z dofinansowaniem” page (nesse.pl/szkolenia-dofinansowane-bur, in Polish).
-
BUR (Baza Usług Rozwojowych) is Poland’s national database of training and consulting services that can be paid for with public funds. It is run by PARP, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. Each course has a listing with its programme, dates, price and trainers, and participants rate it afterwards. NESSE courses in BUR end with a validation of learning outcomes and a certificate.
-
KFS (Krajowy Fundusz Szkoleniowy) is the Polish National Training Fund, granted by county labour offices to employers who train their staff. Since 2026 it covers up to 90% of training costs for employers with up to 9 employees and up to 70% for other employers, capped at 200% of the national average wage per participant. The training must be delivered by a provider registered in BUR – NESSE meets this requirement. Offices allocate funds according to yearly priorities; in 2026 these include management, communication and preventing discrimination and workplace bullying.
-
The employer applies to the county labour office for the company’s location during a call announced by that office – many offices open their first calls early in the year. The application needs, among other things, the course programme and cost from the provider. We help with the whole process: choosing the course and preparing the programme and quote for the application. Call +48 32 253 61 16 or email koordynatorzy@nesse.pl.
-
For 2026–2027 we have 14 open courses in BUR, held in Katowice and run in Polish, including Workplace Bullying – New Rules from 5 November 2026, the Management Academy, Difficult Conversations and Feedback for Leaders, Situational Leadership, AI for Managers and the Business Trainer School. Dates, prices and BUR sign-up links are in the calendar on the “Szkolenia z dofinansowaniem” page.
